Following the service and wreath laying by guests the parade carried out a march past with the Lord Lieutenant taking the salute.
Well done to everyone involved!
Bonus Ball Competition
We’re running a competition to win a unique handmade knitted toy to raise funds for the unit.
To enter, pick a number between 1 & 59. If your number is drawn as the bonus ball in the main lotto draw on Saturday 29th October 2016 you'll be the winner.
Each number is priced at £2.00 and you may buy more than one number if you wish.
To check if your number(s) are available and to arrange making payment please either message us on our facebook page or email email@example.com
This would make an ideal christmas present and you'll be helping a local charity too!
The draw date above is a target date only. If we have been unable to sell all numbers by Saturday 29th October 2016 the draw date will be pushed back until all numbers have been sold. It will then be held on the next available lotto draw after all numbers have gone. We will communicate this by email to those people who supply an email address.
There are currently 46 numbers remaining at the time of posting.
Rotary's Best Cadet 2016
Congratulations to L/Cpl Simon who has won the Hartlepool Rotary Club's Best Cadet award for 2016 which was announced at last weekends Trafalgar Night Dinner on board HMS Trincomalee.
The winner of this award is voted for by the cadets themselves, who are asked to vote for the cadet who they feel best deserves the award based upon a number of factors including helpfulness, teamwork and leadership.
L/Cpl Simon was presented with a gold plated Boatswains Call by the president of Hartlepool Rotary Club, Mr Alan Lakey. He also wins a weeks voyage on board one of the Sea Cadets' offshore vessels which will see him experience what it is like to live and work on a ship whilst sailing around the UK.
The prizes for this award are fully funded by Hartlepool Rotary Club and have been for a number of years. We thank them again for supporting our young people.
Thanks for your support!
You will have probably seen our constant appeals for support in the M&S Energy Fund which finished on Monday 10th October 2016.
We were one of a number of organisations across the North East who were battling it out for votes in order to win £12,500 to install renewable energy at our unit building.
It was a very close competition and the results of the voting are due to be announced on Monday 31st October 2016.
In addition to voting, those who voted also had the opportunity to make a cash donation towards our project. We are delighted to report that we received around £300 in cash donations and would like to thank the following people for their generosity...
Thanks also go out to every one of you who voted for us, and especially to those who helped even further by sharing the link with friends and family. We will keep you all updated with the results when they are announced on Monday 31st October 2016.
AGM - Thursday 6th October 2016
The unit will be holding our Annual General Meeting at 7pm on Thursday 6th October 2016 and we hope you’ll be able to join us for this event.
As we’re a charity the AGM is an important event in our calendar each year. We will be discussing our progress over the last few years and looking to the future as we discuss our plans for the unit.
During this event you will also elect trustees to our Unit Management Team – a group of people who will be responsible for the unit over the next 12 months.
If you know of someone who is interested in becoming a charity trustee, nominations for prospective trustees can be made by emailing the unit chairman Leon Usher - firstname.lastname@example.org. All nominations must be received by Monday 3rd October 2016.
Please help to support the unit by coming along to the event which is expected to last for around 1 hour 30 minutes. Refreshments will be provided.
