Minibus back on the road!
Thanks to a local group of volunteers we now have our unit minibus, which was previously randalised on two occasions, back on the road.
The group, who go by the name of Helping Hands, heard about the condition of the unit minibus following the attacks and decided to step in to get it back up to scratch.
They carried out a number of fundraisers and used the money raised to completely re-spray and brand the outside of the bus. Inside they replaced all seats, painted the floor, and replaced the old tape player with a new CD radio system.
The minibus was officially handed back over to the unit on Thursday 15th September 2016 and we're looking forward to taking it out for a spin in the coming weeks.
M&S Energy Fund - VOTE FOR US!
We have been shortlisted in the M&S Community Energy Fund and we’re currently battling it out with 5 other organisations in our region to win funding to install solar panels at our unit headquarters.
To win, we need as many votes as possible and we're hoping you'll be able to help us out by voting for us and circulating our link to encourage others to vote for us too?
There is also a crowd funding element, where you can choose to donate money towards the project in addition to casting a vote.
Voters must be 16 years old or over and, although you can only vote once per organisation, you can vote for more than one organisation. This means if you have already voted for another organisation, that won’t stop you voting for us too.
We'd be extremely grateful if you could help us out by generating support for this. The installation of solar panels will reduce our bills/running costs and allow us to invest that money into equipment and training opportunities for our young people. It will also generate a small income too which will also be pushed back into training & equipment.
We're back online!
